commissioning a Joi guitar
Custom Orders: Deposits, Payments & Delivery
ORDERING
A $3,000 non-refundable deposit secures your place on my build list.
This deposit is applied toward the total price of your guitar.
Depending on the guitar and the materials involved, a larger deposit may be required to secure specific materials.
50% of the remaining balance is due 30 days before I begin building your guitar. The final balance is due upon completion, before your guitar ships.
Shipping, Insurance, Taxes & Duties
Shipping and insurance costs are the responsibility of the purchaser, as agreed for the order.
The purchaser is also responsible for all applicable taxes, customs duties, import tariffs, brokerage fees, and other charges imposed by the destination country or local authorities in connection with the purchase, shipment, or importation of an instrument.
International buyers are responsible for understanding and paying any applicable import charges upon delivery .
I will keep you informed of progress throughout the build, and photographs of your instrument are available upon request.
Because every custom instrument is individually made, the final price and estimated delivery date may vary from the original estimate. Any material changes will be communicated to you.
Custom order Satisfaction Guarantee
Ordering a custom guitar is a personal investment. I want you to be happy with the guitar I build for you.
If you are not satisfied with your custom-ordered guitar, you may request a return within 7 days of receiving it, under the following terms:
The guitar must be returned safely to JOI Guitars in resalable condition.
You are responsible for return shipping and insurance.
Once I receive and inspect the guitar, I will refund 70% of the purchase price.
The remaining 30% minus original non-refundable deposit will be refunded once the guitar is resold.

This satisfaction guarantee is separate from my lifetime workmanship warranty. Any claim involving a possible workmanship defect will be reviewed separately under the warranty
Cancellation of Custom Orders
If you need to cancel a custom order, please contact JOI Guitars as soon as possible.
Please contact JOI Guitars to confirm your cancellation and the applicable refund arrangements.
Returns & Refunds on Non-Custom Items
Non-custom instruments and products may be returned within 7 days of purchase, subject to the following conditions:
The item must be returned safely to JOI Guitars in re-saleable condition.
Return shipping and insurance are the responsibility of the customer.
Returned items will be inspected for damage, including dings and scratches.
If work is required to restore an item to its original re-saleable condition, the refund may be adjusted to reflect the associated costs.
